What we see
and how we feel
can’t be determined
by what
we know is real,
or realized
at certain times.
We cannot know
what is always
there, or decide
at once if we should
or shouldn’t care,
yet we must always
have the sense to try
to see the good
in ourselves and
in others. We are
both limited
and liberated
by perception.
