a daily breath...

A thought du jour, my daily breath includes collected and conceived observations, questions of life, fortune cookie philosophies, reminders, messages of peace and simplicity, unsolicited advice, inspirations, quotes and words that got me thinking. They may get you thinking too . . .

cloud songs

    We look for, or expect,
movement naturally happening
              in this day-to-day existence.
   We experience what we
   permit ourselves to see.
         Sometimes it is not much,
or we fail to believe the
         incremental, gradual,
                gentle wisps of progress.
        It is all right there,
if you choose to look up.

I'm like a pencil;
sometimes sharp,
most days
well-rounded,
other times
dull or
occasionally
broken.
Still I write.

This Is The Fall

Perhaps you try daily to ignore the obvious. Or the obvious becomes unpredictable and you choose to pay attention to the warmer days and let the chilly mornings pass unheeded.
Autumn colours make it easy, those resplendent yellows, and orange, and deep mahogany show up when we most need colour in our life.
Then come mornings when you notice the cold more than the dark, and you realize the up side of autumn has passed, and this is the fall.
It will only get worse before it gets better. Winter is always longer than it needs to be; there is far too much time until spring’s reprieve.
Another season of change. We either change with it, or we are changed by it.
