There are millions of words
upon thousands of pages,
whether the Bible or a bio
going back through the ages.
Class, or classification;
it matters not.
Titles remembered,
even more than the plot.
Fiction or non, all the hype
or hypothesis,
protagonist, heroine,
or the dreaded nemesis.
Westerns and wars filled with
bloodthirsty battle scenes,
50 shades of something
to Xaviera-inspired
brothel dreams.
Despite self-help solutions or
instructions provided, through
intellectual debate and
opinions divided.
Either award-winning status,
or honorable mention
and even beyond
an author’s best intentions,
it serves a greater purpose
whether you know it
or need it.
A book proposes no question,
but only asks that you read it.

“Between the idea
and the reality,
between the motion
and the act,
falls the shadow.”
