Month: August 2018
I awake to the
erotic rhythm of rain,
nourishment for a mind
craving the tactile presence
of skin on skin.
Imagination stirred
by subtle movement and
the silhouette of your lips.
Humidity broken
by soft summer sounds.
The night carries a
familiar scent at 1:48.
Were you not here,
where would I discover
this nocturnal interruption?
Were you here, how
would I know?
There is nowhere else to go.

We all forget, sometimes,
to care for the one person
who shows up day after day.
In all the confusion we
overlook what matters.
All too often we get so
caught up in the actions and
emotions of those around us,
that we neglect to check in
with our self.
Try harder today to please
yourself. You deserve better
than what you have been
allowing. Be kind. You matter.

don’t even plan.
Don’t even try to pay attention
to anything that’s going on,
(except, of course, your self).
Don’t take anything too seriously
for the day, today, or even
this weekend.
Enjoy unplanned relaxation.
