life notes; flaws and all

a daily breath...

A thought du jour, my daily breath includes collected and conceived observations, questions of life, fortune cookie philosophies, reminders, messages of peace and simplicity, unsolicited advice, inspirations, quotes and words that got me thinking. They may get you thinking too . . .

I'm like a pencil;
sometimes sharp,
most days
well-rounded,
other times
dull or
occasionally
broken.
Still I write.

We should pay more attention
    to the light
as it spills through the cracks.
       Days no longer hold
       what night
                no longer could.
Imbalance indirectly shields us
from that
which we no longer care for
or could no longer handle.
       We are as brave
as we are vulnerable. Open
   to imperfections, or
       a new way of thinking,
we are more capable
   than we believe
   when we no longer doubt.

Mondays are just young Fridays

The path is not always easy,
nor straight; or clear. The
direction is intentionally
forward, yet we can become
sidetracked along the way. It’s
not as much of a distraction,
as it is repurposed objective.
We know, generally, where
we want to be, but there is
no specific timeline when it
comes to wanderlust.
The miles are as endless as the
thoughts, the destinations as
limitless as the possibilities.
It is not always a choice.

A Reminder Of The Love
Posted on June 16, 2019 by j.g.lewisLeave a comment

It doesn’t take Fathers Day
to remind me what I have
that makes life as sweet as it is.
I have a daughter, and every
day I am blessed.
I have only one child and know
not the experience of raising
a son, or multiple children.
I know that I could, easily,
share my love further but,
perhaps, am spared the
decision on which way, or
how my attention would be
divided. I am blessed.
Today I am fortunate to be
spending the day with my
daughter. I wish all fathers a
day as wonderful as that.
Whether it is a daughter, son,
or any multiple combination
thereof, I hope you’re reminded
of the love you are a part of, and
a love that it continues to grow.
Happy Father’s Day.
