Those of us who suffer, and those of us
who grieve, need to be ever mindful
of souls still here to remind us life
is precious. We may find solace in our
anger, or drink, or convenient methods
of numbing pain, but should recognize
only loneliness is offered when consoling
your self. We needn’t dwell in severe
self-adjudicated silence, not as others are
there; within reach, within earshot, and
within reason. Trust and compassion is
always available to those of us who suffer,
and those of us who bleed.
