There is the black, the white, and the combined grey of the everyday obligations, rituals and responsibilities that (somehow or another) rob us of hints of colour outside of the periphery. We all do all that we need to do, yes, but we can interrupt the momentous shades with bursts of colour here and there. Do something each hour, or day, to open your eyes. Read foreign poetry, pick up a new hobby, call up an old friend, walk an unfamiliar path and look at the magnificent flowers or street murals. Life is all around us, but we fail to take the time to dip our brush into the well. See all that can be when you step off the grey scale, even temporarily. Life is not all black and white. Add colour when you can.
