a daily breath...

A thought du jour, my daily breath includes collected and conceived observations, questions of life, fortune cookie philosophies, reminders, messages of peace and simplicity, unsolicited advice, inspirations, quotes and words that got me thinking. They may get you thinking too . . .

I'm like a pencil;
sometimes sharp,
most days
well-rounded,
other times
dull or
occasionally
broken.
Still I write.

It Is Friday

By Friday, the eyes are weary
and the soul is exhausted.
By Friday, you are more likely
to look past, or look over,
even your own mistakes.
By Friday, you have forgotten
more than you have retained.
It is Friday.
If I don’t remember,
will I be reminded?

                Memory
                or malfunction?
      Incidents of that day
    stain the threshold of any
       further relationship.
How can you hold the power
through all these years
          even in absentia?
              Sins of omission
     won’t go away
by pretending it didn’t happen.
          Remind me again
          soon, even now,
         what it meant
         then. When did
                                   it stop?

Not everything you hear
will be what you want to
to hear, but some things
will be more encouraging
than you expected.
Listen. Answers are not
always correct.
