We can become so critical of ourselves when we don’t “accomplish” all we set out to do, or fail to meet “goals” (self-imposed or otherwise). In doing, so we neglect our efforts in making an attempt or discount the mental energy it took to get as far as we did. Sometimes just dealing with the anxiety of the moment, or finding a little extra time in between all the other undue expectations, is a monumental task and should be recognized, if not rewarded. Sometimes progress is just showing up.
