a daily breath...

A thought du jour, my daily breath includes collected and conceived observations, questions of life, fortune cookie philosophies, reminders, messages of peace and simplicity, unsolicited advice, inspirations, quotes and words that got me thinking. They may get you thinking too . . .

deception

We want to know what
we don’t know, or hadn’t thought of,
or forgot.

What mattered then,
or what mattered when, shifts over time.
We notice.

Perception is what you don’t see.
Deception is what know.
You see it differently through your aloneness.

The truth behind a lie,
you question how and why.
It made sense.

Anticipation keeps us waiting
for only so long. Will it matter
if you felt it never did?

acts of clarity

Slow down: even with the ideas that come to quicky. Take the time to acknowledge the feelings that arrive, as they arrive.

Write it down. How else will you remember what you were thinking?

Print neatly. You hardly understand the thoughts at the time, why make it more difficult to comprehend weeks or years from now?

Follow your own logic; only you need to truly make sense of what is happening, or all that has happened.

Pay attention to the lessons of the past. Be mindful that not all are worth repeating.

Clarity. Make corrections as you go. Flaws become more difficult to correct the longer you live with them.

November 11

I'm like a pencil;
sometimes sharp,
most days
well-rounded,
other times
dull or
occasionally
broken.
Still I write.

Peace Is Possible

Posted on December 1, 2019 by j.g.lewis Leave a comment

Peace is purposeful. Always.
Peace will not be accidental,
peace will not be easy, but
peace will not be impossible.
I believe peace is possible
and, yes, you could say I’m a
dreamer, but I also believe
there are more people like me.
People need people. People
need peace. Can we make
December a season of peace?
Can we try? It will certainly
take a concerted effort and
conscious thought. Seriously.
Let’s start talking about peace.
It begins with you. It begins
with me. Together we can
make a difference. We have so
little time, yet, we also have so
much potential. Possibilities.
Peace is possible. Now. Always.
Think about it. Here and now.
Let’s make December peaceful.

“You may say I’m a dreamer
but I’m not the only one
I hope someday you will join us
And the world will be as one”
 -John Lennon
