Mythos & Marginalia

life notes between the lines and along the edges

To Make A Wish

Make a wish.
I’m not really much for
New Year’s resolutions,
all too often they end up as
unfulfilled promises.
Rather than setting myself
up for failure, I prefer, instead,
to make a wish.
It may be silent, or shared, but
it seems more reasonable to
anticipate the results of a wish
than resolve myself to change,
trial, or the unexpected results
of my expectations. I think.
I wish.
There is promise in a wish.
I hope.
