In a matter of days, the temperature has caught up with the month. For weeks now the heat has been ever-present, even at night. Seasonally unusual, but appreciated. The leaves on the trees have hardly changed to the resplendent colours you expect this time of year. The few roses remaining on the bushes at my favorite park have wilted more from lack of precipitation than anything else. The leftover rain from yesterday reminds us how things change. We have been blessed. This is a time to be thankful for what is there, for what surrounds us, even as this morning’s chilly temperatures remind us how fortunate we are. This is Thanksgiving weekend in Canada. With all that is going on in the world, this is truly a time to be thankful for where we are.
