life notes; flaws and all

a daily breath...

A thought du jour, my daily breath includes collected and conceived observations, questions of life, fortune cookie philosophies, reminders, messages of peace and simplicity, unsolicited advice, inspirations, quotes and words that got me thinking. They may get you thinking too . . .

deception

We want to know what
we don’t know, or hadn’t thought of,
or forgot.

What mattered then,
or what mattered when, shifts over time.
We notice.

Perception is what you don’t see.
Deception is what know.
You see it differently through your aloneness.

The truth behind a lie,
you question how and why.
It made sense.

Anticipation keeps us waiting
for only so long. Will it matter
if you felt it never did?

acts of clarity

Slow down: even with the ideas that come to quicky. Take the time to acknowledge the feelings that arrive, as they arrive.

Write it down. How else will you remember what you were thinking?

Print neatly. You hardly understand the thoughts at the time, why make it more difficult to comprehend weeks or years from now?

Follow your own logic; only you need to truly make sense of what is happening, or all that has happened.

Pay attention to the lessons of the past. Be mindful that not all are worth repeating.

Clarity. Make corrections as you go. Flaws become more difficult to correct the longer you live with them.

November 11

I'm like a pencil;
sometimes sharp,
most days
well-rounded,
other times
dull or
occasionally
broken.
Still I write.

Our vision is not always clear, or perfect, or comfortable.

What we see, all we believe (even the random questionable dialogue that interrupts considerable thought) adds up to our authentic life philosophy.

It changes over time, as interim as it is, and contributes to well-being and mental health (as dubious as that may be).

Life lessons, often in the form of unsolicited advice, impact our perception. Human is what we are — as flawed as that may be — and we all contribute something to the world that surrounds us, wherever we are (and that changes as well).

Our ideas and imagination — the boundless curiosity of it all — are strengthened as we permit ourselves to indulge in practices and pastimes that continue to expand our range of emotion, as overwhelming and unpredictable as they may be.

It is not always logical, or certain, or plausible, but it is our will that will take us through what needs to be done, even if it is not something we are fully conscious of.

Growth, in any direction, is both meaningful and magnificent on any given day. Think about it today and every day.

Look. Look deeper. Take your time to go inside; it is our internal thought that mainly controls our being.

Slow down. Don’t rush. What we want to accomplish, as questionable as it is, needs time to develop. We are only human, but it is not that kind of race.
