life notes; flaws and all

a daily breath...

A thought du jour, my daily breath includes collected and conceived observations, questions of life, fortune cookie philosophies, reminders, messages of peace and simplicity, unsolicited advice, inspirations, quotes and words that got me thinking. They may get you thinking too . . .

I'm like a pencil;
sometimes sharp,
most days
well-rounded,
other times
dull or
occasionally
broken.
Still I write.

a deeper look

You need to look closely at what is there.

Observation takes time.

Only a trace of what remains will remind you, again, how it began and why you started.

We look at our actions differently as life moves forward; we must.

A disappointment one day becomes an accomplishment the next. Each step brings a little more advancement yet, at times, you just have to stop and take a deeper look at what is in front of you.

Look past all that has passed. Progress is part of the process.

It can be quite humbling. You may need to remind yourself why.

It is never too soon

to take notice of

an early-rising moon.

Ever closer to its

fuller phase, Luna

holds a charm in

her certain ways.

Always a gift,

if you choose to

lift your eyes.

An everyday evening,

still quite a surprise.

fundamental function
Posted on August 14, 2024 by j.g.lewisLeave a comment

Intelligence and intellectuality,

a consciousness of our reality.

Clarity.

Perspicacity, mental reception

or sensory perception, emotions

consequential

to daily expression of thoughts

and being, lay within our mind.

Two percent

of a body’s mass; small in size

and stature, a human brain has

greater efficiency

than we consider thinking about.

Involved in; no, responsible for

everything we do.

Neurons and neurotransmitters

affect fundamental function and

well being

far beyond our mental health.

Grey matter. And matter it does.

How we think,

feel, react or behave, the mystery

or magic of the cerebrum is tested

daily. Now,

then, and again, and again. Always.

Anxiety, depression, joy and pain,

deeper thoughts

hidden inside memory and minutes

contained within the human brain.

Believe.
