Mythos & Marginalia

life notes between the lines and along the edges

  • “We are what we see. We are

    products of our surroundings.”

                                                        -Amber Valletta

    What do you see?

    What do you feel?

    What do you believe?

    This environment, this day,

    your choice, your way.

    Surround yourself with

    simple comforts and

    allow your mood

    to improve.

  • gr@ffiti

                       think about

           how you treat one another

             and another      and another

                 truly

                         think about it

peace will not happen on its own

limited time and too many lives

           will not prove otherwise

       we still have not learned

       nothing has been earned

         crisis after crisis

       world-wide        localized

             realize

         we are not blind to

         injustice and ignorance

               or political will

    world peace starts with you

         and you      and you

                 and you

                   think it through

let’s make today more than a why

             decide      right now

       it is worth a try

we are not damned if we do

         but damnation continues

         if we don’t

  • cloud songs

    Moments when you ponder,

       allow the psyche to wander,

               another thought

         will cross the time.

           A question or fear,

       however sublime, may

           takes its place

    among your earthly concerns.

Scant stanza of a poem you

might have heard in the confusion

    of another day, sound enough

                   to consider anyway.

    Decisions are formed with

         subconscious intent.

What it means may not be

         what was meant.

  • message to myself

There are flaws in your façade, the image and appearance you have spent a lifetime creating: your perfect offering (as invigoratingly imperfect as it may be).

What is holding back the light? What is stopping you from experiencing life the way you want it?

Cracks are not superficial, many times they run deep.  What you see as blemishes and faults, mistakes even, prohibit you from reaching the potential you feel you have (and it varies day-to-day).

How open are you to the change that may be necessary? What you do is fully up to you; personal choice has its own voice.

Allow that light in, let it spread.

You might feel an enduring difference. If nothing else, you will feel even the slightest shift in your being.

  • ride on

    Athletic aesthetic meets trustworthy

tradition in a truly elegant blend of

    form and function.

    Poetry in motion, even stationary,

any bicycle is a thing of wonder.

    Historically, so little has changed.

The power of the person, two wheels

with a chain, time and again.

    Compelling simplicity. Ageless grace.

    More than transportation; more than

a method of getting from there to here.

Miles of smiles, the ride of your life

    found on a bike.
