Today is the day.
I make an appointment to give blood every few months. It takes about an hour of my time and it could be a life-changing donation. Every two seconds someone needs blood.
Blood and blood products are a critical part of everyday medical care including major surgeries, medical procedures, cancer treatments and managing diseases and disorders.
Blood donors form a vital link in Canada’s lifeline.
Nearly half of all North Americans are eligible to donate blood, but only 1 in 60 Canadians take the time.
There are blood donation centres right across Canada..
People all across this country need blood. It’s in you to give.
Pencil it into your schedule.

Take your time and do it right.
What you have to do today,
or all you didn’t accomplish
yesterday, will likely still be
there tomorrow.
Things that matter take time.
Be considerate of the process.
Be patient with yourself.

It’s not what was said
that continues to echo.
How can you not hear
all you try to ignore?
You know less
than you did, more than
you had to. More than
you care, but you do.
It’s the secrets that hurt.
Dishonesty devolves, day
by day by day, month
into month, and still
no answers. Left out and
longing to hear the truth,
not the unsaid; unheeded,
unnoticed by few. Yet,
you know. For now.
