A sidewalk only takes you
where you want to go. There is
no preordained direction, it
goes both ways and is available
to anyone and their dog. Watch
where you step, be conscious of
puddles, and the stepping on the
crack thing is wholly subjective.
It’s totally up to you, which path
you follow, or even if you want to
walk on the grass. Exercise your
rights, but, by all means, exercise.
Move at your own speed, and
please share the space; we are all
going somewhere and the journey
is far more enjoyable if everyone
is respectful of everyone else.

Maybe we move, maybe
we learn. Maybe we try
too hard to belong.
Perhaps where you are is
more than enough, rather
than where you were.
