Mythos & Marginalia

2015 – 2025: a decade of days

open space

  • personally

    How are you feeling?
How are you dealing with the pain,
or the shame, of all that affects us
    globally, locally, or personally?
    Can you sympathize?
Will you empathize with what you
are told and all that you know . . .
    and all that you don’t?
    Have you found the compassionate
    voice within? Is it authentic?

  • I Believe

Deadlines and commitments, especially those self-imposed, are important. They set the pace and prioritize progress every day, any day, but especially today.
What must be done, or completed, will determine how you spend the time as you work towards your goal.
       We all need goals.
To accomplish those aspirations, target dates are required.
We all need deadlines to give our intentions are purpose.
Today is that day, for me.
For weeks now (and longer) I’ve been trying to take a project to the next level, and I believe I am there.
Beliefs are as important as deadlines; maybe more so.
Today is the day, I believe, and to delay (as I have before) any further will only hold me back.
Deadlines are important, especially for me, especially today.

  • not always the same

Step by step throughout the day,
later today than most. Same direction
or another way to a familiar place.
Not always predictable, where you go
is not always where you will stay.
How do you know where you will
end up when it is not always the same?
    At least, not today.

  • while we wait

We all spend our time on this planet going about our daily business, dealing with both happiness and sorrow as it comes at us, reacting to whatever comes our way in a manner that is within our grasp.
We also spend a great deal of time waiting.
We wait for our hard work to pay off, waiting for something to happen, waiting for our morning coffee, another chance or, perhaps, even waiting for a miracle.
But while we wait, we must continue, one step at a time, making this journey as enjoyable as we can.
We cannot simply wait for a miracle or wait for joy and happiness.
We must make it happen, for then it truly is a miracle.

    An accident. A messy mistake
that gets in the way of what
    you intended to do.
       A spill, unintended and so
    unnecessary, unwanted at a
time you needed to really get
    something done.
       Mishaps sink into the paper
    and, further, into your psyche.
Now you have to wait and
    who has time for that?
The page will dry, but will
    it ever be the same?
