who will hear


In the darkness it is easier to 
determine what’s on your mind;
there are no other voices 
interrupting your ease.
You can whisper, but who
will hear you?

Sometimes I want to talk when
nobody is around to listen. Often 
it is the middle of the night 
and no one is there. 
At times, the silence is 
disturbing my peace.

essential to me

I feel that by now, at this age, I am ready to do whatever the hell I want to do to fulfil my creative self.

   Any lesson, rule, inspiration or muse I have absorbed during my rather lengthy tenure on earth has been important, yes, but not crucial to my survival nor the be all and end all I once assumed it was.

Of course, guidance was both observed and appreciated, but it is my observations with my currently and continually developing sense of style that truly guide me. This, along with my insatiable and undeniable curiosity.

   If we cease to be curious, we stop evolving.

   Art, and my varied attempts to create, provides my fundamental momentum.

   What I have learned and what I still need to know is irrelevant. I’ve absorbed what I could at the time and know now what I didn’t then. It’s a matter of time before I will see what is essential to me: progress.

   If we stop progressing, are we even living or have we begun dying? I am not ready for that. In fact, I will do whatever I can to creatively keep moving forward. I am most sure there is an art to that.

trying to hold on

Days flow into nights, thoughts

wrapping around the moment,

seemingly trying to hold on to

what was or could be.

The past presents itself.

At times you forget the why,

but not the who. Other times

you are not sure of what to do.

The thoughts, however, continue

to absorb the mind, all the time.
