the functional shape or form
of memory rarely fits into
today’s perspective or paradigm

there is simply

too much silent space
between now and then

               how and when
did you discover
               what you felt
               what you saw

            or experienced

was little more than a lie

we have all been there

yesterday and beyond

the size of the memory
                    does not fit
               into the current reality
