Barely one week left to this month, but how many more will make up this winter?

Fortunate we were, for a couple of weeks, to experience the lighter side of the season. In Winnipeg, at least, there were successive days with temperatures hovering slightly above the freezing mark, some days with glorious sunshine and little wind. 

February, for the most part, provided necessary reprieve from the bitter days, and bitter ways, of January’s misfortune.

Now, the cold has returned, as has the snow. 

How many weeks have we to go?
