coming to rest

stopping

silently sitting

a reminder

soon

it will melt

seasons

one into another

there

will be more

without thought

Observations, realizations,
immediate reaction to all senses.

To absorb it all is to uncover
what is within, without thought.

It makes its way from mind to page.
It recites itself without asking.

Life lives in the meter and rhythm,
naturally, if it is taken in. Poetry.

as it happens

Shall we take notice of events not

perceptibly evident amidst daily

crisis or chaos, yet nonetheless as

crucial to maintaining our balance.

   Not immediately immeasurable,

growth happens on its own. Yes,

conditions must be favourable, as

permitted, as it happens. It takes

little notice, yet you must. Try.

  Details; determination does not

disrupt our days but will heighten

our awareness. Mindfulness ever

isolates intention, however slight.

   Evidence always, as if proof.

   Growth waits for when the time

is right. Ardent speculation, even

mere anticipation, will not hasten

its pace. Growth will arrive in the

most certain, unpredictable ways.

acceptance

We must remain vulnerable, in

this uncomfortable environment,

to the needs of those around us

and to ourselves.

Sympathetic nature, beholden

to our ideals betwixt a climate of

anxiety, of angst and absolutism.

Fundamentally shifting between

the purchase polarity of the present,

acceptance of the past; the future

only knowing what holds us back.

Decency rarely offered yet, we

accept what is there. How can we?

Or; how have we settled for this?
