forgetful today

09/07/2026

Today is not the day I expected it to be. Naturally, or calendrically, I was anticipating something else.

Perhaps I am behind the time, or forgetful; as the case may be.

So, excuse me for neglecting the day, a holiday.

Yes, it is a Monday. I’m not quite sure I am ready for it

all right here…

Day by date, month into year, each letter adds up. Photography, poetry, fortune cookie philosophies, concepts, observations, unsolicited advice, messages of peace and simplicity; all right here. Daily, weekly, randomly demonstrating where I have been as much as where I will go and beyond.

exactly that

It is Thanksgiving weekend in Canada: in its simplest form, a three-day weekend to finish up the yard work., complete a couple of tasks, or simply curl up with a good book.

At its best, the holiday weekend it is a chance to get together with family and friends and celebrate exactly that.

Thanksgiving is a wonderful time to express gratitude for those people, the country that we live in, and the life and opportunities we are allowed by simply being here.

It is a time to take a moment and be present.

what goes on

Psychology,

            philosophy,

humanity, biology,

occurs organically,

even haphazardly.

      We deal with it,

    as we can, as we

   should, naturally

accepting

         what goes on.

overload

Announcements and scattered
information of little consequence,
offers for things I don’t need
or hadn’t even considered, and
now make no sense.
Random requests for details
that do not mater, will not make
a difference, and are of little value.
Demands on my time, with
no true replies. Nothing really
worth anything, not today in
any way. Just junk taking up
space and leaving little room
for anything important. No news.
Not even a voice selling me
another point of view, trying
to convince me of unoriginal ideas
and common thought.
I can’t be sold, I won’t be bought.
There is nothing brilliant and
nothing bold. My mind, like my
mailbox, is on overload. What is
inside need not be opened. Nothing
to say, nothing special. Not today.

in the attempt

How does one measure progress?

Are the results plainly obvious, or do they remain hidden in the attempt?

Each step of the process leaves residue of intention, but when is it enough?

When do you see the meaning or the satisfaction of completion?

steps to the season

Mornings you walk briskly; frost is soon to settle on the city and the overnight temperatures remind us of the seasons to come.

Afternoons, however, are more leisurely. You find yourself slowing down or suddenly stopping to admire the sun highlighting the multitude of colours in the leaves. Take the time, now, for the trees can only impress you for a little while longer.

There are several steps to the season. Soon everything will be leafless and lifeless. Then winter will inch its way into our lives.

Enjoy October while you still can.
