Details not always available at first glance become available over time.

A photograph is but a fraction of a section, but there is more. Pay attention: the image evolves with your depth of perception and mindful consideration.

Look.

all right here…

Day by date, month into year, each letter adds up. Photography, poetry, fortune cookie philosophies, concepts, observations, unsolicited advice, messages of peace and simplicity; all right here. Daily, weekly, randomly demonstrating where I have been as much as where I will go and beyond.

entirety of the effort

It took much longer than expected, and there were many hurdles and setbacks along the way, but yesterday I finally found completion with a necessary project.

There are certain feelings that arise when you finish any task or endeavor. To say I am satisfied is an understatement.

It is now time to take pride in the work and let the feelings linger.

All too often we do not bask in the glow of accomplishment. We should.

Each time a project, piece of work, or series of events is completed, we should reflect on, and acknowledge, what was learned. We are reminded of the difficulties that presented themselves along the way and should celebrate the entirety of the effort.

Any project worth starting comes with its challenges. Perseverance is to be respected and rejoiced.

Any accomplishment is a sign of true pride. That is what satisfaction is all about.

at any time

We look, we watch,

we observe.

We wait. The day, at

any time, provides

opportunity.

Sometimes we don’t

always see, accept,

or acknowledge all

the possibilities.

Why? What are we

waiting for?

Mondays are just young Fridays

I am taking time over this three-day holiday weekend to catch up on correspondence. I’ve not been writing, lately, as often as I should and, given that it is Thanksgiving, it seems to be the optimum time to send off a few letters and give thanks for friendships that have evolved over the years.

I’m usually pretty good with my replies, but it seems here has been far too much happening this year, and I have fallen behind. I can list so many reasons for not writing: an overseas trip in the spring, ongoing renovations and redecorating of a 125-year-old bungalow, a garden that always requires more work than planned, and my artful pursuits. Somehow, now, these reasons for not writing come off more as excuses.

I believe wholly in the power of a handwritten letter. It is a personal connection you simply don’t get from a text or email. I love letters and have received several over the past months that need to be acknowledged.

This is my weekend for doing so.

   Write on.

our current state

You can’t fully prepare yourself for what is to come. It is unknown and uncertain and not knowing is often where we dwell.
Uncertainty gets us thinking, keeps us curious about who we are and what will become of the days, weeks, and years we leave behind.
We do indeed live in the moment(s), yet those that preceded this time will continue to influence our current state of mind.
   Past tense.
   Present tense.
What was is not what is now.
The sooner you are able to grasp all that, the better able you are to understand how you can you be ready for the future? It need not be such a definite moment, but it will define you, whether you will admit it or not.
What you say, what you write, what you experience or what you remember does have a lasting impression.

overload

Announcements and scattered
information of little consequence,
offers for things I don’t need
or hadn’t even considered, and
now make no sense.
Random requests for details
that do not mater, will not make
a difference, and are of little value.
Demands on my time, with
no true replies. Nothing really
worth anything, not today in
any way. Just junk taking up
space and leaving little room
for anything important. No news.
Not even a voice selling me
another point of view, trying
to convince me of unoriginal ideas
and common thought.
I can’t be sold, I won’t be bought.
There is nothing brilliant and
nothing bold. My mind, like my
mailbox, is on overload. What is
inside need not be opened. Nothing
to say, nothing special. Not today.
