Mythos & Marginalia

life notes; flaws and all

open space

  • it’s personal

A journal is a personal statement of where you are, a reflection of where you have been, and often an indication of where you are going.
Within our journals lay scattered thoughts, random scrabble, unanswered questions, potential solutions, unsatisfactory results, deliberate intentions, and living proof of the life we are leading.
The scratchy handwriting is more than perception; it is our personal history as it happens; mindful expression of where we are in the moment.
As we progress, as we evolve, our thoughts may change and our minds may move in different directions, but through it all we maintain a tactile, permanent record of our achievements and adventures.
The longer you keep a journal, the further you will go.
It takes commitment, yes, but the dedication is solely to your self.
Couldn’t we all do with a little more time to ourselves?

  • trust that it is

Trust is a give and take word, and not one to be taken lightly.
In any relationship or encounter you give trust, or allow trust, often in the moment; many times without thought. You, in effect, trust yourself to trust others.
You take trust at face value. Trust is, or should be, reciprocal. We trust that it is.
       Are we too trusting?
Trust is earned. Trust cannot be replaced.
Trust can be taken away as easily as it is given.
To trust is to give of yourself without compromise.
It takes trust. It takes time.
       Don’t give up.
       Trust yourself.

  • hope

    what have we
    if not
    hope

    for ourselves

    in each other

    hope
    keeps us
    believing

    in each other

    in ourselves

  • let’s not

    Let’s
    not forget
    what we promised,
    what it meant, and
    what we are.

    Let’s not
    forget who is there
    when it matters,
    not who came along
    when it was
    convenient.

    Let’s not forget
    why it mattered, and
    why it still does.

  • you are not alone

    Isn’t there always a trail?
What then do you know of
    your actions or the impact
    upon others?
It is safe to say you are not
    always aware of the results
    or unintended consequences
of what you do beyond how
    it affects you?
If so, you are not alone in the
thought. So few of us will
    even consider others in our
    day-to-day interactions. We
do what we do to simply get
    through all the bullshit and
    bafflegab we continually (or
    constantly) hear.
It is noise, that’s all it is, a
disruption to your self and to
    your intentions to fare better
    than you have. Sadly.
We all want to get beyond
    the clutter infringing upon
    our space and time. Physically,
    emotionally, and spiritually
we need room to breathe and
to see where we are going.
All of us are involved, even if
we are not thinking that way.
    How aware are you?
