This planet is moving, and
you with it.
You can’t stand still; even
the sensation of stillness is
fleeting.
Humans are not meant to
be stationary objects.
We have feet to move and
minds that wander.
Our choices may only be
limited by direction.

abstract thoughts
infinite time
or is it
the space between
now and when
the last time
we spoke or touched
or smiled
do we grieve
the space between
then and when
we manage to
avoid each other
not by fault
not without blame
nor lack of trying
just a thought
for this time
to get past
the space between
you and I

We don’t always do
the things that we should,
the things that we want, or
the things that we could.
It’s not always that we can’t,
(because we probably would)
but sometimes we don’t do
things that usually feel good.
You don’t need permission
to do whatever you want. You
just need to do what you do,
but do it for you.

Aren’t we are all trying
to deal with something?

I see the differences, but
try not to let the differences
disrupt what I see.
There need not be
conflictions or contradictions
if we truly look past
all our flaws and frailties
and see what we can be.
Together. Female or male,
we are all human,
despite our differences.
